About the Harley Davidson Rocker Softail Motorcycle

In the motorcycle world, the Harley Davidson company is one of the foremost manufacturers. Since its inception in 1903, the company has been building quality motorcycles that are known for their sleek design and durability. One of the more recent additions to the Harley family is the Harley Davidson Rocker motorcycle; it is a softail motorcycle, which means it has a hidden rear suspension. This Harley Davidson softail is considered by many to be Harley's first bona fide chopper-style bike.

The softail bike was first introduced by Harley in the 1980s. In fact, Harley owns the trademark of the term softail. The softails are designed to look like hardtails, with the added comfort of rear suspension to absorb impact of bumps that a rider passes over. The Rocker is one of many softail bikes available for purchase today.

Though the Rocker is classified as a softail, it has a distinct appearance and structure that makes it quite different than any other model. The back fender has no visible sources of support and is located just over the rear tire. Since it is attached to the swingarm, it rocks as the tire spins, which is how it earned the name Rocker. Compared to other models, the seat is very low. There are two main types of the Rocker. One is a smaller, more basic model; the other one costs about $2,200 more than the first and is fully equipped with a passenger seat and plenty of chrome accents. Many riders that have experimented with the bike have described it as fairly easy to handle, especially for its size.

The addition of the Rocker to the line of Harley Davidson softail motorcycles has been a smart move for the company. Its chopper-like design has attracted many younger riders to try it out. It is a comfortable softail motorcycle that looks cool, rides smooth, and is built to the high standards demanded by the Harley brand.
